Supply Chain Specialist

The Supply Chain Specialist is a member of PSC’s Supply Chain team whose primary focus is providing support to the purchasing department by expediting & purchasing materials, supplies or equipment. The successful candidate must be well organized, detail oriented, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and manage multiple projects to completion through effectively communicating with all stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers in an accurate and timely manner
  • Verify supplier shipping location, shipping method, items, costs, and quantities on supplier order confirmations match issued purchase orders
  • Submit purchase order (PO) requisition to suppliers and compare bids
  • Identify the most cost-effective sources for supplies and materials while also maintaining quality of product
  • Negotiate pricing of supplies and materials with our suppliers
  • Monitor and report on purchase order issues for material procurement, including supplier promised and actual shipment dates
  • Review weekly purchase order reports to prioritize and determine which purchase orders that require confirmation
  • Identify and correct any product, freight, price or shipping discrepancies through notifying the appropriate PSC team member
  • Assist with data management projects as necessary, perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Industrial Distribution or Supply Chain Management is preferred

Experience

  • Prior working knowledge of procurement process in a multi-location environment
  • Prior experience and working knowledge of pipe, valves, flanges, and fittings used in the oil and gas industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of maintenance, repair, and operating supplies used in industrial and energy industries Working knowledge of equipment used in the drilling and completions processes
