As an Outside Sales Representative, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue and establishing strong customer relationships within the oil and gas industry. You will be responsible for identifying and targeting potential clients, understanding their needs, and presenting them with tailored solutions from our comprehensive range of rig-related products and services. This role requires a results-driven individual with exceptional interpersonal skills, industry knowledge, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.

On-Site Job

Will report to 2400 Ansys Drive Suite 404 Canonsburg, PA 15317. Will be traveling 50% of the time in first 6 months of employment. This position does not support remote opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business Development:
    • Prospect and generate leads within the oil and gas sector, focusing on rig-related products and services.
    • Identify potential customers, industry trends, and emerging opportunities to expand market share
    • Develop a strategic sales plan to target key accounts and achieve revenue goals.
  • Customer Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
    • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand clients’ requirements and tailor product/service offerings accordingly.
    • Deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations that showcase the benefits and features of our rig-related products.
  • Sales Process Management:
    • Lead the entire sales cycle from initial contact to deal closure.
    • Create and deliver comprehensive proposals, quotes, and bids.
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts in alignment with company guidelines.
  • Market Intelligence:
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, and technological advancements related to rig equipment and services.
    • Use market knowledge to identify potential areas for product or service improvement.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including product development, marketing, and customer support, to ensure seamless customer experiences.
    • Provide feedback to the product team based on customer insights to improve existing offerings and develop new solutions.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions using CRM software.
    • Generate regular reports on sales performance, pipeline, and forecasts.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business, etc.) preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in outside sales, with a proven history of achieving sales targets.
  • Industry experience is required. Applicants must be eager to learn and open to instruction.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and CRM systems.

  • Proven track record of success in outside sales, preferably within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on rig-related products.
  • Strong understanding of rig equipment, technology, and services.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build and nurture relationships with clients at various organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time across the United States for the first 6 months.
